Hello again.....I'm looking to deglaze my clutch and in the future change the belt. My question is the manual says I need a special tool to hold the housing bell as well as the variator, to loosen the nuts. My question is would using just an impact wrench do the trick...the special holding tool wouldn't be needed? Thanks Dan

I cant say specifically for scooters but thats how I do it on four wheelers. I've got a gates belt coming to replace my cheapo belt and thats how I planned on doing it.

Yes, you just need the impact.

Impact wrench for removal would be acceptable. But when tightening it it back on, torquing to proper specs would be best. You don't want it to come loose if it is not tight enough and over tightening makes it harder to remove if you you don't have impact tools available or you may risk stripping threads. For some things, proper torque is very important..... this is one of them.
