I'm plenty happy with the current speeds of both scooters. 50-55 is MORE than enough for me on a scooter lolol! Thanks for the advice!

Ive been building and riding motorcycles/scooters for over 30 years,,always broke them in like I was going to ride them(HARD) and I raced a few times,,never had any problem with this method...just might want to go a little richer on a 2 stroke for the first tank or two,,and drop the oil on a 4 stroke at 300 miles.
Hurricane Bob Hannah's mechanic Keith told my dad about this method they used for years..take a look at how Hannah broke his motors in..lol

Now that I'm home and can pose this in a MUCH better way than on mobile..... Valve adjustment. I keep hearing about it. I've done plenty of it on SBC engines so I have a few questions for the knowledge on this forum. 1. Is it similar to adjusting the valves on a SBC? 2. How do you know it needs done? 3. What am I listening for/looking for while doing it? 4. How do you know it's done right? Any and all info is appreciated. I'm not incompetent when it comes to engines and mechanical things. I've built a few SBC engines before and done mainly machine maintenance for several years. I just want to learn more about these engines and before I dive in and REALLY screw something up. Thanks for the advice!

If it starts up and idles good hot and cold the valves should be fine,,I set mine to .004 both,,then check them every 2K km. or so,,last time I checked them they where still good..one was .003. The valves on these GY6 motors tighten as they age with use,,so eventually they will get so tight the valve wont seat anymore and it will lose compression and wont run right or at all. If you hear a little chatter/ticking that means they are still good also..there are so many great videos on the web about adjusting the GY6 valves,,its easy..
