The other day at work, a new hire comes in and lo and behold he's working with me on this particular day. He is a young kid with all the answers just out of the latest automotive tech skool. after about an hour or more of listening to him tell his stories of his latest and greatest achievements to be noted in the automotive archives of history.
I was at a point of adding the engine oil and firing it up. Wouldn't you know it, everything went well during the assembly and everything was there up until the very end,,,, The 710 cap was missing!!! I asked my new hire assistant if he would not mind heading to the parts counter and have Norman get him a new 710 cap.
Off he goes to see Norman at the parts counter,,, a few minutes later he returns,,, good old Norman sent him back to me for some vehicle information and to take the information and the request order for the 710 cap to the shop foreman.
While the new kid was off on his search for the 710 cap,,, I found the missing 710 cap (OIL cap) and fired up the engine.
About this time Norm and the shop foreman come over to me and told me that they sent the new kid to the parts store in town for the missing 710 cap. Ya,,, we shared some laughter!!!
About 30 minutes later the kid arrives back from the parts store....... there was nothing but silence from him,,, he didn't say a word to anyone the rest of the day!
