Hello Forum, I have a few motorcycles and ATV's and always wanted a scooter. My stepson does not have a driver license so I killed 2 birds with one shot. Got an used 2010 CY50-A 50CC TaoTao Scooter with a few details for him to use for summer school and work until he gets his driver license. Then, I get to pimp it! LOL! I do all of my mechanic work and have a knack for building stuff. I just dont have the time to play as much as I want. Maybe some day... Looking forward to learn and become an asset to the community.

Welcome aboard. Make sure to teach that young guy cycling safety. This is the time. And he's on your scoot... Keep 'em both in one piece

Thanks for the welcoming guys! Welcome aboard. Make sure to teach that young guy cycling safety. This is the time. And he's on your scoot... Keep 'em both in one piece Standard response from the 18 year old every time im talking safety or rules: "I know....." LOL! I swear he knows it all even before I tell him. He's been riding bikes since young (should I say younger) and the times he been diving the cars he has been doing great but I keep telling him, he does not have a cage to protect him if he mess up in the scooter, he is on the loosing end no matter what.... School is about 2 miles from home round trip in small roads, his old work is probably about 8 miles round trip but I am trying to get him to find a job closer (not that 4 miles is really that far.) since he will have to go and work evening to night shift.

Is he old enough for a motorcycle safety foundation course? May be his next birthday gift? He can't get away with "I know" there

Hello from Mint Hill. I'm glad to see a local on here, but I'm sure there's more. I just joined myself and am in the market for a 150cc plus scooter. Like you, I too am looking forward to learning and becoming a scooter community asset! Enjoy!

Make him take the MSF, just incase he does choose a motorcycle. Gives a good experience. I took mine at 17.
