Hey all. I have a Wildfire 150cc scooter, that recently had a no spark issue. I changed the coil/plug wire, spark plug, cdi module and finally the stator and fly wheel. Nothing fixed the no spark problem until I replaced the stator and flywheel. When I replaced it I replaced the original 6 pole with an 8 pole. All wiring and connectors were the same. This got the scooter running and runs great. Now the problem is that all of the lights that run directly off of the stator will blow out when the rpm's are increased. I have checked the voltage at the connector coming directly off of the stator and the yellow wire has around 13 volts at idle, sometimes as low as 9. The other wire (white one) has around 17 volts at idle and also below at times. Not sure if that could have been poor ground during testing. But when the rpm's are raised to riding rpm's both wires are showing as high as 32 - 33 a/c volts. Has anyone ran into this problem before? What is the normal voltage coming out of an 8 pole stator and should it vary with change in rpm's? Could the 8 pole be to large? Or possibly a bad stator? Does anyone have any suggestions for cause or cure? I am not able to ride currently due to the fact that I don't want to fry the wiring harness. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The VAC are good revving the motor up they can go up quite high 80+ Vac.
I think it is your Regulator/ Rectifier, did you also replace the R/R? And yes the VAC should go up as the rpms go up the faster the Flywheel turns it produces more VAC. What you should do is test the power wire that charges your battery and see if it is overcharging.. If you trace the yellow and white wire you will see them plug into the R/R. Alleyoop

Sorry. Yes I did replace the regulator too. I have the same voltage going into the regulator. Coming out of the regulator I have 12.6 d/c volts. I also have the same voltage on the battery. Everything that appears to run off of the regulator works fine. Turn signals, brake light, horn, emergency flashers. All of the lights that run directly off of the stator have high voltage. I am showing any where from 5 a/c volts on the connector to 30 volts with higher rpm's

12.6 dc volts at idle on the reg what is it when you rev it up to say 4-5k. Alleyoop

I get the same voltage coming out of the regulator no matter what rpm.

Then I would say your R/R is not putting out and time for a new one IF when you rev it up the WHITE and or YELLOW from the stator ARE putting out HIGH VAC. If when you rev it up it is still just putting out 33-32 or whatever that you get at IDLE then the STATOR is the main problem. BUT that does not eliminate the R/R. Once you get a good stator to put out you then have to again test the R/R revving it up it should be putting out 13+ max 14.5-14.7. Alleyoop

Maybe double check, my stator on my new engine didn't have a ground wired in the connecting piece that mates with the the wire harness. I blew my headlights and almost blew my dash.

The stator puts out around 13 volts a/c on yellow wire and around 17 volts a/c on the white wire. At high rpm both wires are putting out 30+ volts a/c. I get this reading at the connector coming from the stator and at the connector going into the regulator. Coming out of the regulator I am getting 12.6 volt d/c no matter what rpm.

The stator has 5 wires coming out of it. Three are in one connector a yellow, white and green. I have to assume the green is ground because i get no voltage on it. These appear to be for the electrical system. The other two wires are each single connections and appear to be what goes to the cdi and then the coil for the engine to run.

pets see a picture of your regulator with the harness plugged in so we can see what color wire goes where .
Sounds to me like the ac dide of the regulator is regulating the ac for your lights but not making dc for charging .

Well I finally got the situation fixed and bike is up and running with out blowing all the lights out. Turns out the 8 pole stator I purchased may have been wired for dc voltage lighting? As well the 8 pole flywheel didn't match the stator. Returned to a 6 pole stator from Wildfire dealer and original flywheel and all is good. The new voltage regulator was bad as well but not sure if it may have gotten blown from the extreme voltage being sent to it. ?? So for now all is good and I am back on the road with an upgraded cdi module and coil/plug wire which are working fine. Thanks for all the information and assistance with this problem.
