Don't believe what they say on the box. They say ready to go with no charge needed. I bought a 220CCA and when I converted to the 83CC BBK It still didn't have the power to crank even after rewiring to thicker gauge wires. Charged it on a trickle for a few hours and it cranked the 83 over no problem.

April, 2008, killed my battery, ordered a Big Crank AGM battery: www.dslretorts.com/Paladin/archives/002527.htmlUPS arrived with the package, ripped it open, slipped into the bike and was on the road within 5 minutes. The bike was still working in 2012 when I sold the bike, after it being flattened more than 5 times.

With batteries, it depends how long they were sitting on a shelf before shipping. One or two days since charging, and a couple of days shipping, you have no problems. If they were sitting on the shelf for a couple of weeks, they still will start most well tuned scooters. If they were sitting for longer than a month, they will most likely require charging. Many local shops keep a charger rotating through their stock, and test batteries before selling them to you. With shipping, since you have no idea how long since their last charge, it's standard procedure to charge a newly purchased battery before use.
