OK, sdverona,
Welcome to the site, and THAT is one of the top-ten best-looking scoots I've seen! You also know your way around a camera...
I'm nearly 70, and also like to keep it retro! Flat-floor, step-through Italian-style scoots with cycle-bars and separate instruments and headlights appeal to almost everyone who likes scooters, and YOURS is outstanding! Please elaborate on any custom touches you did yourself... The white seat, the exceptional 2-tone paint, red wheels, etc. How much is stock, and how much is custom?
If this one came from the factory looking like this, they're not going to make them fast enough to keep up with buyers... If you did the work yourself, GREAT WORK! Enjoy that sweet ride! It's sure to turn heads everywhere!
Sincerely,
Leo in Texas

Thanks oldchopperguy! Retro is the way to go, it most definitely appeals to many people young and old. This is a scooter that was modeled off of the Honda Joker, So I wanted to try and replicate that look as much as I could. Here is a Honda Joker: My scoot originally looked like this: So the first thing that had to go was the luggage rack. The joker has a sportier look because most people don't use it. I then painted the wheels fire engine red and wrapped them with 100/ -10 whitewall tires. The chinese headlight SUCKED at night, so swapped that out with a aftermarket headlight that uses H4 driving bulbs... HUGE DIFFERENCE. The engine is back to stock because I blew the top end. I used to have a 170cc big bore kit on it. I eventually want to get the motor back to where it was was before or maybe even going bigger for more power. other than that, it's pretty much stock... but I kind of like it that way. This scoot is more of the cruiser-type anyway, so I was thinking of keeping it the way it is and going out and getting a Honda Metro and modding the POOP out of that one.

Sdverona,
Wild! I have never seen the Honda "Joker". I always wondered which scooter the Chinese "turtle-deck" models like yours was inspired by.
VERY nice work, and a ride that WILL turn heads!
Keep it up!

My scoot wants to grow up and be like your scoot.
Those red rims and whitewalls made the difference. And dropping the trunk, but I like to use the trunk.

dev150cc - Your scoot can totally grow up to be like mine lol. You are also correct about the trunk. People that use it a lot will have a hard time parting ways with it! in my case, I use this to commute to work which is about 3 miles down the road, so its no biggie for me. I really want the Honda Joker solo seat. I'm still trying to find that part and cross reference the seat to see if they are compatible. My second option is to bring a picture of it to an upholsterer or fabricator and see if they can recreate it. oldchopperguy - My reaction was the same as yours when I found out what scoot the chinese cloned, I was amazed to say the least! The "Joker" was also called the "Shadow" in different places of the world, but because of the current model of Honda Shadow motorcycles it's difficult to research the Honda Shadow scooter via the internet.

Your scoot now looks exceptionally sharp and clean. (I noticed how you got rid of the SSR badging too)

Thanks spandi! I've worked on it for a while, but I'm not there yet. I love to keep this thing "clean" and turning heads... it's fun!

If you are handy, making a seat isn't necessarily a difficult thing.

dev150cc I don't think it really an issue of whether or not I am handy, it's more along the lines of me wanting a professional to do it haha! But I do see what you mean and I am pretty handy.

howdy, I just stopped at an out of the way Harley customize shop because I saw a couple scooters outside and wanted to make acquaintances and see what they were. they had handlebars like that and a similar tail trunk. I simply can't remember what brand or model. it was a three guage cluster and bars that looked that shape.
would you possibly be able to post a pic of the bars and gauges then i'll get back with the model numbers. they both had those bars but were completely different otherwise. interesting
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

shalomdawg - I'll take a picture of it later today when there is light and I'll post it up. Although I am still unclear on why you want this done, but ask and you shall receive!

howdy, thanks fer the promise of a pic. the reason is kinda off the cuff. I told the gentleman that I didn't think that was a stock set-up especially since the two scoots were very different except for the identical handlebar and gauge set-up. since they were owned by the same person, I thought he had aftermarket upgraded them. maybe not---
