My nephew had his scooter stolen tonite. He was at a card shop located on a busy street. He played for several hours, and the scooter was gone when he came outside. Either a lock or an alarm probably would have prevented the theft, making any attempt to obvious on a busy street, unfortunately he had neither.
Lock your scooter, and there are several alarms made that are relatively inexpensive compared to replacing your ride! There's even a couple that have remote alarm key fobs so you will be notified instantly if someone is messing with your scooter available for around $100.

Agreed!Back in the sixties, in Chicago no less, I had NO lock of any kind on my $30,000 chopper ($300,000 in today's dollars). Not even a key ignition. Just toggle-switches. If you were man enough to kick it over, you were man enough to steal it. Nobody did. You can't do that today. Stealing is a way of life in America, from the White House to the back alley. Lock it up, and if possible, chain a Pit-Bull injected with HIV to it... LOL! These days, I like the warning signs that read: "TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT. SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN."As with John Wayne, when he was told by an incompetent sheriff whom he stranded in the desert "You're a hard man"... Wayne replied: "Well, it's a hard country." or something to that effect. Yup. It's a hard country these days. Leo in Texas

That would really chafe me pretty bad. Make sure to report it to the police. It could pop up somewhere quickly. and it could be getting tickets parked somewhere it shouldn't be (happened in San Francisco to a poor lady recently).

Sorry to hear of another theft of a scoot.
It is a shame that an honest hard working person has to jump though all kinds of hoops with locks and alarms to keep what he/she rightfully owns because of some useless scumbag. If I had my way, it would be shoot first and then let god sort them out.

Thieves will steal anything they can.
I was parked AT MY CHURCH to practise a handbells solo on a Sat afternoon. Came out and noticed something seemed different about my car's rear. That was because someone had stolen my plate's renewal sticker. Called the police, he filled out a report so if that someone was pulled over he'd be nailed for the theft too. I asked the licensing lady if they contacted me if they ever stopped the guy, so I could get back the $5 it cost me for a new sticker, plus something for wasting my time. But what I really wanted was to smack the bugger.
earlylight's right. It IS a shame that the honest folk have to work harder than the thieves to keep what belongs to them through hard work or saving up.
