Hello everyone this is my second topic, second upgrade, and my first scooter so forgive me if my terminology isn't perfect.
So basically I'm trying to upgrade to the UNI inline air filter that seems to be quite popular around here. I already have it in my possession and I've attempted to remove the stock intake and replace it with the new one.
The problem is that it seems I need some sort of 45 degree extension so that the new intake isn't crushed between the chassis and the engine. I've tried searching for such a part but have yet to find anything that fits my needs. Basically it needs to have an o-ring clamp (the same size) on both sides with a 45 degree angle to give clearance for the new filter.
Again I've had no luck finding such a part so if anyone could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

You probably can use the Tubing that already goes to the AIR BOX it curves so you can cut it and have the uni going to the side where it can get some clean cooler air. Alleyoop

Go to lowes and get a rubber 45 degree or elbow from the pllumbing section , it works perfect .

I actually have. A Rubber sleeve that connects a black plastic degree elbow to the carb and I attached the uni to the plastic elbow , it sticks out to the side so it sucks in fresh cool air .

It actually sits below the side panel and out beyond they back tire instead of over the engine.

When I upgraded to my K&N I tried using the stock air box tube It worked fine at first but It wasnt the best fit and fell off so i tried to put it on tighter and that worked for a while until the inner diameter kinda folded and closed up a little and then I had problems from it running too rich so I tried an idea that i seen others using a radiator hose works very well and was a perfect fit

Yeah, clamping a filter to a rubber hose doesn't sound like it would last too long... I used a rubber pipe coupler from the hardware store with my chrome intake tube - it started to disintegrate and let little fine pieces of rubber loose that got sucked into my carburetor. They also make UNIs with a 45 degree neck made to the filter.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've got a better idea of what I need now.
Hey Idthpp, do you think you could find a link or part number to the intake tube that you have? That looks perfect.

I was thinking he could make a few. I bet they would sell great on ebay, or even amongst us dawgs. I would buy one.

I checked out your link and I tried checking U.S.A. Shipping and it bugged out or something. Didn't give me a carrier or any rates and I couldn't click the ok button. Looks like a good option but I'd like to be able to get just that double elbow piece without the added turbine-looking-led-filter. Not to mention it seems they don't want it being shipped to the US

...I'd like to be able to get just that double elbow piece without the added turbine-looking-led-filter. Here you go... universal fit, some customization required. OEM intake manifold is 30mm on the carburetor side which translates to 1.18xxx inches. You might have to cut a slit in the end of the pipe to reduce the diameter to fit.

Most of the rubber couplers have only about a half inch or so of rubber showing on the inside after both ends are attached to the carb and whatever pipe u desire to use plastic or metal , so u normally won't have a problem with rubber in the carb .

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've got a better idea of what I need now. Hey Idthpp, do you think you could find a link or part number to the intake tube that you have? That looks perfect. That tube came with a funky baffled filter/canister I bought from that scooter chrome website - I never got it to run good with the filter, but the air tube worked great. It definitely ran better with the tube + filter vs. just attaching the pod filter to the carb. I wound up hacking the neck off my stock airbox and attaching that short section to the tube.
