I had the same Koso variator and red sliders in for about 2 .5 yrs , at the end of last yr I noticed one of the sliders were starting to split , I should have changed it but I left it in for the remaining month of riding season . The last couple weeks . Inoticed a change in My acceleration . It was picking up speed much slower then usual . So this yr I opened the cvt and checked the sliders , they were all gone and the variator slider guides were wore from metal on metal contact . So no problem I orderered a new Koso and a couple new sets of sliders. I also went with new clutch springs 2000 rpm from 1500 rpm . Installed the new Koso and the clutch springs and new belt , it's been about 500 miles and time to up the roller weights and to my surprise I blew out a v- slider and split the other two . Also wore grooves in the variator slider guides , now I know the first time was my fault since I didn't replace the sliders , but the only thing I can think of this time is the higher rpm clutch springs are putting to much force on the slides as the clutch engages at higher rpms . Also as u look at the variator as it spins counter clockwise the sliders are splitting on the right side , so as the clutch engages and applies tension on the belt the right side of the sliders hit the slider guides on the variator with enough force to destroy them within 300 to 500 miles . Atleast that's what I think . Let me know your thoughts .
