i haven't followed the game since i was a kid. grew up just outside detroit, my uncle took me to a game during the  season. i can remember Kirk Gibson hit one hard bounced off the innfield about 10-15 feet away from first base. i don't recall who we were playing but the first baseman fielded the ball and headed to the plate, Kirk was flying and nearly beat him to the plate. that was amazing to me. the guy didn't get on base but omg could he run. |
