Alleyoop,
Sounds like you got some GOOD Chinese hoses... I know they DO exist, but trust me, when I replaced my carb, the fuel lines from tank to petcock to carb turned to "tar" in my fingers... And the carb was a mess... I have no idea what causes this "sometimes" phenomenon... My guess, is excessive alcohol in the local gasoline. I think the Asian fuels probably are not so much "gasahol". My "new" old 2007 Kymco has the original hoses which look "older than dirt" but are still firm, free of cracks and working fine, like yours.
Sometimes the Chinese stuff is great, and sometimes, not so great. My much-loved little Xingyue had fuel lines made from licorice-whips... LOL!
Leo
PS: I'm absolutely NOT trashing Chinese scoots... I tend to love 'em. But at my age, and health, I really appreciate less maintenance for daily use. Just getting older.

<snip> i'm in south florida also and ended up going with the 118 jet and needle clamp at the top. everything else still stock except gates belt and fuel line. it was running gr8 a few weeks ago but now that the temps are a bit warmer i think it is running a tad rich. where in south FL? my new carb came with a 105 main jet but i changed it to a 108 before installing it coconut creek, northwest of fort lauderdale. my scoot wouldn't even run with 108 jet. maybe i have vacuum leak.
