Is that a trail tech temp gauge or something else it looks good in black Yes, it's a Trail Tech. If you get one, make sure to get the 48 inch extension cable. The attached cable is ridiculously short.

I switched my fan back to stock last night, went to start my scoot for work it wouldn't go past the compression stroke had to turn it off the compression stroke to start which i haven't had to do since i replaced the starter wires. I thought maybe my battery was low so took off went to work my scoot wasn't accelerating as well as usual and i seemed lose top speed, so i thought maybe it was the fan. I switched the fan back when i got home it turns over like a champ again my accel is back and so is my top speed, so regardless if my scoot runs hotter with the performance fan it stays on my bike.

That I do not agree with at all. The fan would not cause that kind of a problem unless it was hitting something to stop it from turning over. Alleyoop

It has less weight and makes it easier for the starter to turn the crank, mine runs much better with the lighter fan.

Come on millsc, no way no how couple of ozs or grams is not going to cause that at all. I would bet the fan was hitting something and stopping it from rotating. Alleyoop

Not sure but it starts and runs better with the hipro fan I'm gonna stick with it a noticeable difference.

Don't think you can install the fan wrong I'll make a vid starting with both fans its a night and day difference.

I would like to see that video if you have the time. I don't understand how a fan that weighs a few oz could make any difference in starting. Perhaps your video could show something I need to learn.

One gram less slider weight makes the scoot run different doesn't take much weight to change performance on these scoots.

What I think your problem was not able to push through the compression stroke is a WEAK battery, since you always had that problem from the get go. Then of course once you got it started and rode to work or were ever your battery charged up enough some. If that were the case you could duplicate the same symptoms by putting in heavy weights in the variator. So this is all "FUBAR" as the OLD MAN would say Alleyoop

If memory serves me correctly, the fins on the original are aimed the opposite direction, pulling air in from outside and pushing it into the engine shroud. The fins on the photo you have above would be moving a lot less air in the direction needed to cool, however, it would have less drag, which could be why they say it's for performance.

yeah right i run a cooler than stock spark plug and have made a heat exchanger out of copper pipe that goes on the front pipe. i took the copper pipe off one day and it ran like crap so i put it back on and it went better but not as good as before.
So i raised the float level and lengthened the bowl vent to high behind the body panels so it cant suck spray off the rear wheel Now my boot soles dont melt when it touches the muffler
