Hey guys. I am doing my PDI; replacing all the vacuum and fuel lines and I have run into something I haven't seen on videos. I did some reading and I think what I have is a PAIR system, but I am not sure. I read another post indicating that EGR systems and PAIR systems can look the same, so i wanted to ask what you guys see. If it is a PAIR system, I intend on buying a non-egr valve cover and cover plate for that little opening on the head. In the picture below the left hand side is where the PAIR system is. On the right is the fuel tank vapor line that goes to a canister. Based on Alleyoop's comment in this thread, I intend on removing the vacuum line and canister and placing a good fuel hose on the vent of the tank and capping it with a filter. Also, I am confused about the breather hose coming out of the valve cover. Right now it goes to a T. One hose out of the T goes into the transmission housing and the other goes to a hose that I can't remember where to connect. I have seen videos of people that just have that hose hanging loose and fed back into the frame open ended. So what do I do with these hoses?

The transmission hose is a vent too. They probably both went into the stock intake tube. They don't have to be connected to anything, but you will want to stick the loose end in a catch can if it is dribbling condensed oil vapors out.
You dont need to buy a non-ER valve cover, it may not even fit an EGR head. Just remove all the pieces and be sure to block off the port coming off the head.

Ok. Thanks for the tips. I just got done removing both the PARR system as well as that fuel vapor system coming off the top of the tank. My cover plate is on its way to cover that port; got it from scooterpartsplace. I used a hose and fuel filter placed backwards off the tank. It's zip tied on top of the tank like mentioned here and the YouTube videos. So much less clutter now!

Yes you can clean that all up and have only a Vacuum Line going to your Petcock or Fuel pump and to the ACV Valve on your carb and that is all. The other hose from the top of the Valve cover is the VENT hose you can also put a Fuel Filter on the end of it and zip tie it higher than the valve cover and block off where it is going into the Air Box. The PAIR system take the two bolts out holding the actual VALVE and the two bolts in the head and the chrome pipe will come off. Then just block off the hole on the head when the part comes in and you cleaned that up as well. Make sure you Block all the vacuum hoses off. Like I said once your done you should only have 1 vacuum line going to the ACV valve and 1 to your fuel pump or petcock. Alleyoop
