Good evening everyone! I am a long time lurker, ready to make a purchase. My daughter and I will be going into this with our eyes wide open. We know our first scooter project will need ongoing wrenching. The idea is to have some fun together and plant the bug. The last time I was on my old 80's Honda Spree was about 20 years ago I have bookmarked Big Guy's PDI walkthrough along with the various parts lists that need to be replaced straight away. Due to some circumstances, I will be ordering online from the steamy pile of mediocre retailers. I like the Znen scoots, and will be going 150cc. Can anyone tell me if this scooter is a Znen? Many of them look the same. If it is not, then I will be ordering the other scooter. Any advice or input is welcome.

those honda spree's were invincible. i cut grass all spring and half way through summer back in to get mine. i dropped half my customers after i bought it so i could spend more time riding. i bought a 150cc from superior. ordered on the 7th of feb., scoot arrived on the 19th feb., had a problem with the MCO and they finally got the paperwork sorted out on the 10th of march. i don't know how to tell where they were manufactured from the website. hopefully someone else can answer that question for you. one thing i didn't really plan for was were i was going to park it until i got plates. living in a gated community they are very strict when it comes to unregistered vehicles. so make sure you have a place to park it until you get the MCO and BILL OF SALE. superior was fast at sending my paperwork, i actually had it the day before the scooter arrived but unfortunately the VIN didn't match. i wouldn't pay for the extended warranty. if you read the fine print it is next to impossible to follow all the rules of the warranty and few if any parts are covered. you are on your own once it arrives.

Roughly 86 pounds of scooter with 25 miles an hour (had the Iowa spree), but was a blast to ride. Thankfully I do have a garage. We will park it there while getting the parts and pdi performed. I expect problems regardless of where I buy it. Any idea about the first scooter manufacturer? Just because it smells like a Znen doesn't make it a Znen.

OK, so I will give the totally unsolicited advice you were not asking for. I thought online Chinese 150's were in the $1000 range. I am in a fairly large metro area with several powersports dealers. Several of them have used Kymco Super 8 150's listed in the $1700 range with just about zero miles on them.
When I talked to one of them he told me they would take $1200 for either of the two used ones they had in stock. Very good scooters for a couple hundred more.
But good luck with whatever you decide.

The SSR 150cc Scooter Type GENSEN-CA is a znen Chinese scooter. Check out this link, it's the same scooter. www.sagacanada.ca/deluxe-50cc-150cc-scooter-fe.aspThere are some of these 150 scooters on the roads here. Also if you have a look my earlier post there one of these in the bunch. Probably one of the better built Chinese scooters.

The first link you posted looks like the Znen Falcon models, they have 6 different Falcon models listed on their website with slightly different body panels. Call the seller and ask them to send a pic of the manufacturer's plate, here's an example of the one on my Znen Q50:

My thought was that they will tell me it is made out of solid gold if that makes me buy it. I know these boards are full of knowledge, so I started here.

Which is why I suggested asking for a pic of the manufacturer's tag.

I am going to pull the trigger tomorrow morning. Even though I am only 250 miles from the showroom, I will have it shipped. Avoiding the LA traffic and time is worth the shipping.
