The headlight, instrument cluster, battery bucket, and seat all bolt directly to the frame. The entire grotesque bulbous rear end comes off clean, along with the big rear sub-frame that holds it on. It feels almost as light as my 150cc as it is in the first two pics. I REALLY wish it ran, and I wasn't doing this to part it out. But, my roomate is moving out, so there is absolutely now way I am spending more money on scooter parts....!!! I still need to pay off the Reflex parts... Who needs Helix parts??

Hmmm. Looks like a naked Helix in good shape would make a nice alternative to the increasingly rare Big Ruckus. Some flat body panels could be made from coroplast or something similar. Shame your helix isn't running.

It would make a great Rat Scoot!
A lot of people didn't like the way the Helix looked, but it was, and is a runner. I gave a used 1996 Helix to my nephew, and he rode it all through high school with only routine maintenance. He sold it to another relative, and it is going strong on a ranch near Amarillo today.... almost 15 years later it has had no major issues.

Would make a awesome naked scoot with the wires tucked away and cleaned up.

It does look like a big ruckus with the plastics off. If you did a few little mods, like welding some crash bars on to the frame, it would be even closer.... pretty awesome.

Doggone if you're not RIGHT!
Wouldn't take much to make the nekkid Helix into a REALLY neat "Mad Max" or "Steam-Punk" ride! Sort of "Dr. Seuss meets Dr. Loveless from 'The Wild, WILD West' ". I'm envisioning it covered in buffalo-hides, rusty chains, skulls and bonz... Ammo-bandoliers and spikes... If nothing else, it looks MAJOR-LEAGUE heavy-duty. That front-end would look at home on a locomotive!
I sure like it better without the body-work. I'll drink to that!Leo in Texas

I did the helix search and it pulled up a super nice naked yellow one. It looked like they did a pretty go amount of cutting and welding for that look though.
