Hello i have a 2008 250cc duke touring scooter. I've bought a intake manifold for it and it was the wrong size and the vacuum fitting in a lower position. Is it a cn,ch or a cf250 engine? it has GY6 on a plug and a number on the gearbox: BN172MM 08900717 please help thanks.

I'll let those that know better give details but I didn't think the honda clone CN 250 is a GY6 but I'm not the motor builder guy.

It's a 172mm helix clone... (cf-250)... Yes it's part of the GY-6 family even tho the configuration and design is completly different from it's air cooled cousins. The intake manifold is different. Check out scrappy dawg scooters. link to scrappys--Raymond

Thanks mine is liquid cooled hope it is a right one Yes it is... the CF250 is liquid cooled... It's what you have. (I have one too)... The only other 250 that is common with chinese scoots is the yammy clone but that one won't say GY6 on the side drain plug. Your cylinder is upright with the head on the top. The Yammy, the cylinder lays down like the air cooled GY6 with the head toward the front of the bike. The actual displacement for the 250 helix clone is 244cc. The belt cover may look different, you may or may not have a 10" rear wheel, but that's the engine... The intake looks the same as the one you order, but it's not. The 250's intake is bigger. The CF 250 is used by Jonway, Tank, shanke and Znen to name a few. Not to mention the CF Fashion.

When I did a carb disassembly on my Znen 250, low and behold, stamped in the intake manifold was the CF Moto logo.

When I ordered a replacement variator fan I told the the guy it was a Chinese 250, (he had 2 models for either the regular Chinese or the CF Moto) it turns out I learned the hard way it was a CF Moto. BTW, that ain't bad, as the CF Moto parts are a much heavier and better made design.

Most cell phones are already made in China, and most of them, the quality is pretty top notch. Espicially when you consider the tech that's involved and the price. Yeah, there are some real pieces of junk out there, but bye and large, quality is getting better every year. Other places to look is Pakistan and India. There was once a time when stuff from Japan was junk. Now look.

I can also remember when Hyundai was complete junk, now their quality rating is even higher than Toyota.
