Jerry is right , u usually have to play around with diff variations of rollers and springs to get to where u want or like it .

Does using the firmer contra spring create a lot of heat in the CVT area....read about cutting some ventilation holes in the cover....think it is needed??? I felt the cover a couple times last year and it gets pretty hot. Found a pretty good video on how to remove the big clutch nut using a large adjustable wrench and tapping the handle on the floor while holding the assembly in your hand. Pretty sweet....had it loosened up and apart in less than a minute. Saw another Youtube on cleaning up the assembly. Video for everything on there....

The heat will affect belt life to some extent, but I don't think there's a firm agreement on how much it will help to ventilate the cover. Some people cut out the cover over the clutch assembly, others remove the filter in the front air intake, but most of us just leave it as is. YMMV, so long as you aren't shredding belts in less than a thousand miles, you shouldn't need to worry about it.

Yes it does create more heat . I cut my cvt case in a couple places to allow the heat to escape . My 2000 rpm main and clutch springs also cause the belt to wear quicker . I usually go through 2 gates PL 30708 Kevlar belts every summer. As the belt wears the rpms begin to rise and I counter it with heavier roller weights . I start out with 11 gram roller weights with a new belt , and as the belt wears I'll go to 11.5 then 12 and so on until I reach 13 gram weights . After the 13s become to light I buy a new belt . If your not sure what I'm talkin about what happens is with new belt and 11 g rollers I hit 65 between 7200 and 7500 rpms as the belt wears i won't hit 65 mph until a higher rpm and that's where the weight change comes in . I have 10 spare gates belts and I'm sure each has a couple thousand miles left in them . It may seem like a waste but to me i luv the performance from the 2000 rpm clutch and main spring .
