Ok, I was out riding when my headlight went out. I figured it had just burned out but then my back lights on the speedometer and fuel gauge got really bright, then went out couple minute later, and I just replaced those at the end of summer. All the other lights work, just not these. So, how can I tell if this is some sort of electrical issue besides burnt out bulbs?

Have you checked the function of your stator and rectifier? That is where I would start.

It is probably a loose pin in a connection block close to your headlight. And your instrument cluster is getting its power from there. If it was a short it would blow your fuse in your battery box. Then no lights would work and your electric start wouldn't function or your horn.

My guess is the regulator portion of the R/R (rectifier/regulator) is bad and the voltage increased burning out the bulbs.
