Just picked up a 06 Vino 125 the other week and love it. With just 4,000 miles it hasn't been ridden too hard. I've changed the oil and final transmission fluid and cleaned the air filter. Am planning on cleaning the CVT filter this weekend. Just wondering what else you all would recommend for maintenance? Too early for a roller change? CVT maybe (depending on condition)? All ideas welcome.

I would visually inspect the rollers to check for where. I've seen some old rollers in perfect shape, and ive seen some new one with flat spots all over them. Every bike is different so its hard to tell.

1- Check your brake system, every component and fluid levels. After 4k, you could be in need of new pads, rotor, etc. 2- If you don't know that the CVT belt has been changed at some point, it would be a good idea to put a new one on now. 3- Check your tires for wear and the valve stems for dry rot. 4- Check your spark plug, the ceramic should be stained to a nice coffee color. If it's very white and hardly any tan/brown to it, you'll want to adjust your carburetor to make it richer, too lean can destroy an engine. If it's dark brown and/or has deposits all over it, you'll want to adjust your carburetor to be leaner, but too rich is not as dangerous as too lean (just requires cleanup).

I wouldn't even mess with inspecting the valve stems or belt..... I'd just change them out. The chinese valve stems are just dangerous. I actually had one of the chinese valve stems let loose on my 150 with a sudden lose of tire pressure. I was lucky and didn't dump the bike but it was not fun. As for the belt, do yourself a huge favor and buy a Gates belt and change that sucker. At 4k, it's due, even if it is a gates belt. I run 4-5k on my 150 before a belt change.

Thanks Joshua; I've got the rollers on my checklist. Was thinking about making the change to sliders. Any opinion on sliders vs rollers? Low end is fine with good acceleration off the line, too speed seems to lug for a 125.

Hey thanks Jerry and Urbanmadness. Yeah, you're right, eight years old its time for a new belt - who knows when it was changed?
any thoughts on the iridium plug vs standard? Was going to do that today.
Yeah Jerry, big thumbs up in the brake system check - that should have been standard for me. Duh!

I put an iridium plug in when I installed my BBK, so I can't say if it makes much difference since it was part of other modifications. However, I can say that I haven't had any problems with it since I installed it.
