The engine starts & runs at idle but wont run smooth when given gas it sounds like a 2 cyl running on one.
Replaced plug, fuel filter air filter but still runs bad with 0 power. I have a sound recording of it? could it be the Magneto/ stator(lights work good) |

A spuddering, cutting out, sound would mean its electrical
If it sounds normal at idle and bad at any other time It could be the valves need adjusting, Severely mis-adjusted carb, or bad piston.
Does it start easy?

Could also be a dirty/plugged main jet.

starts easy has no power when gas is given. unit has 3800 miles new plug & oil & air filter

I would make a video and put it on youtube and post it here. Or record the sound, post it to a website and post it here.
Ive never known for a 2stroke or any engine to work with half the cycle,s so I couldn't even try to picture it.
Will it at least ride at a decent but slow speed?
I can't even help unless I hear or have the sound described to me.
So far it sound like a vacuum leak or an electric problem.

I listened to the audio you sent , sounds like it firing at the wrong time . I would check the woodruff key . If it checks ok I would try another cdi .

Thanks I will do that Thursday. But in the mean time it is running good. All I did was check all tubed & hosed to make sure tight & not cracked.
