Leo,
You walked to school? Uphill both ways? You were lucky, you had feet we had to crawl both ways *LOL* Ahhh, for the good old days before I worked my way into my seventies..

You got THAT right! Bikes, cars... anything with an engine and wheels today is WORLDS better than in "the good old days". Guess vehicles have to be considered part of the "good new days"! Ride safe! Leo

Leo ...right up until your car's heater stops working, and you are told the repair (a new HVAC control panel) will cost you $1050 and might fix the problem! Or you get a teaspoon of water in your new F-350's fuel, and are told the repair will be at least $10,000. (That's not a typo.)

Hard tail 35 years ago = bad back now!
Yes the scoots are more comfortable, and in some cases as dependable as some of the junk I rode in the '60s & '70s. I had a lot of "one way bikes" they may get you there, but would they get you home.
I also like working on the China scoots, and they never disappoint. There is always something that needs replacing.
One thing I am having a hard time getting used to. The step through frame. I am over 60, and still try to throw my leg over. I hit the helmet box........ 6 years now, and that box is kicked all to heck on one side.

HVAC control panel, which cannot be repaired & most be replaced as a unit. The panel is electronic, the car has auto HVAC.
