I'm looking for any info on the various gy6 engines being built. For instance, my 50cc Znen has a model number BN139QMB, and I know there are several other variants such as the "P" variants. I'm looking into a 150cc for myself, and another one of my nephews is looking into 50cc models. Has anyone compiled a list of what the various model numbers mean for both 139 and 157 engines, who are they manufactured by, etc?

BN? Wonder if that means it is made by Bashan?..

I'm not sure, my scooter is one of Znen's "Patent" models (per their websites) if that makes any difference.

BN? Wonder if that means it is made by Bashan?.. Further down that tech talk page at scrappy's, they mentioned an engine variant for 150cc scooters prefixed with BN. Mo says it's BenNeng of the Zhongneng Industry Group. My scooter's manufacturer's plate does say Zhongneng as well as Znen, but doesn't mention BenNeng. I've been impressed with my scooter's build quality so far, especially after all the horror stories I read last year when researching chinese scooters. Since many seem to think certain manufacturers are better than others, I'm trying to stick with what I've personally experienced as good quality when I make my next purchase (still planning on the Znen/Lance Phoenix with custom flames in the spring).

So I found this "history" page for the ZhongNeng (Znen) group. It turns out they started the Benneng Engine brand back in 1999. Znen company historyAnyone have any info on their scooter's manufacturer that might help nail down other prefixes?
