Taking advantage of my vehicles warranty I have ordered a spare carb, stock muffler, as well as a stock airbox.
1) The new airbox intake manifold does not have the nipple near the carb inlet (the T nipple that goes to the EVAP as well as the exhaust intake. With the nipple gone, does that mean this eliminates the hoses to exhaust as well as the EVAP?
I want to double check cuz with the spare parts I've ordered, nothing is quite stock like it was on the bike - heck the new exhaust doesn't have "Burn warning" on the side.
2) The new carb main jet is 102, which my original was 108, same carb, why would the jet be smaller?
I'm installing the new cylinder head tomorrow as the spark plug blew out the hole thus stripping the threads and I couldn't fix it with tap n die.

What they sent you is most likely aftermarket parts not the original parts the scoot came with. There are many types and manufactuers of these parts. So what you can do is when the parts on there go south like the "T" on the AIR BOX you can take the "T" off and JB weld it onto the new one. As for the main jet being a 102 and the original a 108 same take the jet out from the old carb and put it in the new carb.
Now the hoses going to the AIR BOX which one is probably from the EVAP system and the other most likely from the VALVE cover vent those can be taken off. If one of the hoses is coming from the Valve cover PCV valve you can just put a fuel filter on the end of it and zip tie it higher than the valve cover on the frame(it is just a VENT). The EVAP system same it probably is coming from a CANISTER but on that one you will have to plug up the VACUUM hose coming off the INTAKE MANIFOLD and do the same put a fuel filter on the end of the hose coming from your tank and zip tie it higher than the tank outlet. Thanks for that - The one hose runs to the exhaust not Cylinder.
I will put the fuel filter as suggested on the hose to the EVAP system.

Then you might have an EGR system( exhaust gas recirculation ) this system has a VACUUM line to open the Valve to allow the unburned gases to exit and normally the hose will be connected to the INTAKE TUBE between the AIR BOX and the CARB. Alleyoop

I have been aggrevated with the dash panel lighting being so dim, I have to strain my eyes to read it.
Is there a way to get the display to be brighter?

I checked ebay, I couldn't find a relisting of that item even though it said they relisted it, but after doing some checking, I assume THIS would work as well? What belt size do you recommend for the GY6, 150CC, 157QMJ long case engine? It came stock with 842, thus I got a gates in the same size, but wonder if I should take it down to 743/788 - the site I got my bike from offers several sizes - 743,788, 842. Also what replacement battery brand is recommended? - I saw some reviews on Scorpion from batterystuff, but I heard its made from china.

Yes those leds will work as well. you have the long case motor the 743 belts are for SHORT CASE motors so do not get that belt. The 842 is good so stick with that one. Scorpin is a good brand or you can get one from INTERSTATE, SEARS Diehard etc.. also there are only a couple of battery companies here in the states and they make all the batteries all they do it make them according to their specifications and price. Get the 842. Buy a Gates belt. They are only arond 30 bucks and are pretty much the best best for your application. I only use Gates in my rides and it's one of the first things I do when I buy a new scooter/used scooter. That and tire valve stems.
Every bike gets a small socket set, screw drivers is a knief, then you can handle most stupid things on the side of the road. Alot of guys carry an extra belt (wire tied to the frame), a cdi and coil. I don't bother with those. I'm just equiped for a loose bolt, or vac line/fuel lilne problem.

Thanks Ally for confirming both bulbs and belt - can't wait to get those bulbs replaced so I can at least read the fuel gauge (with the sensor being so prone to failing, I may end up counting mileage til next fillup - thus my 120mi trip I only got 80mi from a full tank haha.
I will check the scorpion battery, I imagine our stock gets what 60CCA?
urbanmadness - thanks for your response - I have a electric impact gun for use at the shop, but on the road, it would be useless - do you know if the 12V has enough torque to get the variator nut off? I am glad I ran the 240mi round trip the stock belt not breaking, or anything else going on wrong. __________________________________________
So I tried starting the bike after replacing the new cylinder head with a brand new spark plug - here is 2 things I have noticed:
With the plug out, the motor turns over just fine - put the plug in, motor struggles to turn over, makes that dead battery sound.
2) OIL - Evr'ybody run! Oil before the plug blew was reading just fine, could see the level where it needed to be - NOW, heck it is clear up the oil ruler almost running out the filler. I have ordered a flywheel puller and should be here by next Tues. I will check the oil pump.
Any suggestions on the crank - I can confirm spark from the plug.

If the oil level all of a sudden raised SMELL it, it is probably gas in the oil. Also check the VENT HOSE coming off the Valve cover it could be KINKED and it will not allow it to VENT and will create pressure in the crankcase and will blow out seals and or gaskets.
Get a better battery 60CCA's is very low you will only get a couple of good cranks and then it sputters out. Get a battery at least over 100cc's the higher CCA's the better. Alleyoop

FYI - Yes, the 12v impact wrench from Harbor Freight is perfect for pulling the variator and/or clutch. It comes with a socket to fit the variator nut, but you'll have to purchase one for the clutch. It also comes with a cigarette type adapter you can hook up to use for the impact wrench and other things (charging your phone, running 12v accessories, etc). I love the peace of mind knowing with my 12v impact wrench and a spare belt zip-tied to the frame, I will never be stranded due to a shredded belt!

Thanks Jerry for the info.
Out of curiosity, is there a way to replace the CDI with a better system? I don't mean racing CDI as I have that, but seeing how I am having continuous issues with cdi, I wonder if it can be converted to something else to start the bike or at least bypass it.
Ally - I checked the cylinder valve, and it was not kinked. The oil did not smell like gas. I charged the battery, and it did turn over like its supposed to, but the cdi is not firing. I am thinking of doing a complete rewire, but that will be tough if the new harness is not labeled. Any thoughts?
