If it is not LEAKING(torn, ripped, holes or leaking from the center ) nothing that you would complain about.
So explain what is happening that you are asking about the Diaphgram? If you explain in detail what the motor is doing we can then diagnose what is causing the problem. If the Diaphgram is leaking or the cover it NOT sealing it will not pull the needle all the way out and you will loose top end and OR it will rise and fall and you have a motor that goes high and low. Yeah basically it's got a slight stutter almost liked a small backfire (pop), happens really quickly. Does at pretty much any speed, so I checked the carb and the diaphragm was to stretched out to go back in place but not torn. So wondering if thats possibly the culprit ? Changed the plug too it was fine.

Well that is not your diaphgram. that is why I asked the question to explain in detail. Ok now big difference in a BACKFIRE and POPPING sound, a backfire is just that sounds like a gun POW POW, POPs is just that it makes a POPS sound or a BRAT sound so you have to tell me which one it is and WHEN IT does it, WHEN YOUR ON the throttle or LET GO of the throttle. I wrote up a TIPS & TRICKS thread for MOTOR SOUNDS and what its telling you the problem is. itistheride.boards.net/thread/52/motor-sounds-tellsAlleyoop
