After weeks of trying to post to this forum (with no success), I found that this is the new version of the old ScootDawg forum. Which explains why there was hundreds of "viewers" but nobody was posting. Now that I'm here (on the new version) and logged in, it says:
You cannot create threads. You can reply to threads. You can create polls.
Likely part of the problem is that Google queries direct viewers (including me) to the old forum! It looks like the old ScootDawg and the new aren't linked at the message level. If I'm following an old thread, do I have to start it all over again on the new site?
Thanks!

Yes and no. The old scootdawg.com lost its moderators, and then the whole site was (taken, appropriated, stolen, copied - choose your word - I like stolen) by someone who created the "new" scootdawg.net. Much terribleness ensued as people debated whether that was a theft of intellectual property, a breach of proboards rules and/or bad taste. The old scootdawg was then "closed" by proboards and is now a read only forum. This is a new board that I would say is in the spirit of the old scootdawg, but again, scootdawg does exist in a less-active incarnation under the .net.

And it seems you do start over as a new member by creating a new account with your old user name. At least that is what happened to me.

Same here, and it's the perfect time of the year for new beginnings.

We all had to start over in this form as it transgress to "It's the Ride" Visa Proboards terms and conditions.(TOS) The point that Scoot-D.net OR any other Form(s) that HELPS with scooter repair, is simply "scooter polaticks" for the most part. But for the most part regardless of what form you go to, you'll get the same people that will HELP, as some of us are not form owners, just scooter owners like you.

The initial question was changed and now my first answer looks foolish. I hate that.
The easiest thing to do if you want to comment on an old thread is to copy the thead's url and put it in your question/comment with an explanatory reference.
