Here in eastern Pa. we have had some cold and snow more than usual. animals are having a hard time finding feed. They browse everthing above ground, thats why I have all my shubbery fenced. Last night several deer walked right up on my deck looking for food. I have some artificial garland around my rail, I guess they thought they eat that too.. So today I will buy some corn from local farmer to put out. Not as much as I would like, since I cant afford to feed this herd of 10 or so of deer but maybe help them out a little. I do hunt but getting one of these is like shooting ducks in a barrel. OBE

I hate to see anything starve. Be it, person, pet or wild animal.... It is just sad.
I could pledge a twenty to Denali fund to feed wayward deer.... pm me

Thank you urban for the monetary offer but no need. The temp here will be going up in the 60's by sunday so most of the snow will melt. They will be able to get to the acorns which they like. I have gigantic oaks at the rear of my property. Next year I am going to rake some and put in buckets for severe times during the winter for them. Yes they will get pretty tame when they know free hands out are here for them, sounds almost like some people in this country. But thats another sore spot for me. Anyway while I was at it I got some bird feed and suet for the local bird population. I like having them around, does wonder for bug control in summer.

howdy, I have a visitor that smokes so goes out in the back at night. the first night she came in shaken and said there was a big raccoon that sauntered up and inquired how she was. another night a skunk came up and looked her over and said it was going to bed now and went under the deck she was standing on. I don't think we will be feeding them on purpose.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken
