When I first got my old bike the first week the throttle cable began randomly getting stuck at full throttle. Replaced the cable and that one broke, replaced that one and it broke again. 3rd time and I got a new bike before it could break on me. Two days ago the throttle cable got stuck on my way home, then It randomly became unstuck after a frustrating while. Worked for s day and just randomly got stuck again, like I can't even manually set the carb back to idle with my hand. How often does this happen??? Thank god for a kill switch

Any luck figuring out where it's getting stuck? AFAIK this is not a common problem, so there should be a smoking gun somewhere.

I find 2 things that cause this.. 1. Water gets in the cable and freezing weather causes it to freeze up. 2. Check your throttle grip where the end of the cable connects.. These frequently get chipped off leaving a bur..or get bent slightly so that the cable binds...then breaks. On 2 stroke Scoots ONE tiny grain of sand or crud on the carb slide will cause it to hang up. Also on those Carbs..a loose Needle(caused by a poor fitting clip) will not let the slide return to idle position.. or bent Needle will do the same..
