Can I use a vacuum fuel pump instead of the stock vacuum pet cock? The tank on my 250 is gravity fed (tank is under the seat). The mount for the petcock is on the left of the bike, the fuel tank outlet is on the right side of the bike, and of course the fuel line comes into the carb on the right side of the bike.
I'm thinking about either putting a vacuum fuel pump in, because of the long run, or just moving the petcock. Any thoughts? Will the pump act like a vacuum petcock? I have a spare makuni fuel pump on the shelf, I could use.

You can do either of the two, If you keep the Petcock Gravity fed move it to the same side as the gas tank outlet and carb fuel inlet and make sure there are no up and downs from the tank to the carbs fuel inlet. Set it up so it is a nice straight shot to the carb fuel inlet all the way from the tank. Alleyoop
