Which scooter? Pictures? Every scooter basically has different hoses that route to different locations, even within the same scooter line.
Typically there is a line that goes from the EGR or the PCV valve to the intake to reburn crankcase vapors or exhaust gases.
We need pictures to tell you specifically for your scooter though.

1. You might have as hose going to a little Plastic Box in front of the AIR BOX coming from a Canister and a hose from the Canister connected to the Valve Cover Vent PCV valve. Or the hose straight from the Valve Cover Vent PCV valve to the Little Plastic Box. That little box traps Oil that may get squirted out of the Valve Covers PCV valve. They usually have a foam Filter and you need to clean it so that it can breath and not get clogged with oil. Or you may have a Oil Canister but these are rare not to many scoots have them. 2. Then you might have an EGR system( exhaust gas recirculation ) this system has a VACUUM line to open the Valve to allow the unburned gases to exit and normally the hose will be connected to the INTAKE TUBE between the AIR BOX and the CARB. 3. Then you might have a EVAP System ( Evaporative Emission Control ) this traps fumes from the gas tank and also acts as a vent for the gas tank. A hose from the Gas tank goes to a CHARCOAL canister and is operated by Vacuum. A hose from the Canister will go to the AIR BOX or to the Tubing between the AIR BOX or the Carb. 4. The you may have a PAIR ( Pulsed Air Injection Reburn ) this sucks fresh air into the Exhaust port. It will usually go to a Canister operated by a Vacuum hose and one hose is just hanging to suck in fresh air. Alleyoop

To me all emissions stuff is bad, but that PAIR system is the worst. It causes the exhaust to overheat, and causes backfiring. Next is the EVAP system. If you fill up the gas tank all the way full, gas will run into the charcoal canister, and cause hard starting and poor running.

Good decision, they always cause trouble sooner or later and you find yourself taking them off. If you did want to replace something they are hard to find and cost a ton. Alleyoop

That my friend is a REV LIMTER unplug it , it senses the rotation on the CRANK.
Also take a couple of pictures of the sensor and wires in the CVT, I copy and save pics of things that are on scoots to help people show them what things are and how-to. As you know pictures are better than trying to explain something to someone. Thanks Steve Alleyoop

I know you recommend removing most of the emissions crap alleyoop, but will a 150 or 250 pass smog tests without it?

If in your state you have to take your scooter for emissions tests then OF COURSE you would not take them off. Just use your cabeza, or as they say if it hurts don't do it Alleyoop
