If your stock cdi is in the battery box you will need to mount this cdi somewhere in the draft . I had had problems with the cdi acting up when installed in the battery box . Please keep this in mind . I had 2 of the cdi's returned to me one was DOA and the other tested perfectly .

I have the CDI I purchased from you installed in my battery box. I separated all the components in there with some rubber from some old wading boots to prevent any electrical or vibration issues. Very tight fit, had to bust out the plastic tabs in there, but it works great!

John i agree the battery gets hot and so does the CDI I shifted my CDI out of the battery box about 3 months back and it seem to run smoother

Thanks for this thread. I thought i had a bad starter but it just turns out that i have a performance cdi and it likes to kick back alot. But i still think that the starter might be going bad i hit the switch and it sounds like its grinding. idk but if someone could let me know....
