You could also ask Pizza Hut, and you'll get this nice box (for free?): It's commercial for them, you know I like it I can make a few bucks while I'm just cruising around......

Leo that's a great scooter. I was looking for a grand vista but couldn't find a leftover at the right price. You're going to love it. Saddlebags add a ton of storage and come on and off in seconds. I use them for shopping and cruising and its money well spent. Enjoy your new ride. Wow!
Those look GREAT! Also the matching round trunk. That's a great way to go ESPECIALLY if you travel! Looks good for sure. I understand not finding a Grand Vista leftover. They ARE still out there, new, at dealers, but they have not been made in 3 or 4 years, and dealers still want near $4,000 for them. For THAT price, you can get a new Kymco People GTi300. It's a natural "morphing" of the old Vista, with modern styling, 16" wheels, dual front disks, and 4-valve, fuel-injected engine with 30 hp as opposed the Vista's 20 hp. I never had the budget for a new scooter, so I concentrated on a used Grand Vista from the start. I found a LOAD of them at affordable prices, some even with very few miles. However, all were out-of-state, requiring shipping, title drama, possible dual state sales tax, etc. and I'd still have had to sell my old 150. When I found this one, at a local dealer who would take my 150 in trade, it made up my mind. These old Kymco 250's seem to be good general-purpose workhorses capable of handling a LOT of miles. Hope so anyway... LOL! If this trunk doesn't have enough room, I definitely will consider saddlebags. Thanks for the picture! It starts me to thinking! Ride safe!Leo

Looks interesting. Comes with the backrest and mounting plate for about the same price as just the backrest for the Givi. The liner is to protect your helmet from scratches and keep things from ratteling around inside it too. My Wife's chiropractor has the GIVI equivalent of this one, and the quality is quite similar. I was amazed at how stout this trunk, AND the steel mount is made. The brand name is "Motorbox". Probably just a generic name, but definitely a notch above the average Chinese product. It appears to be from the same maker as the smaller trunk already on the scoot. That one is 6 years old, sun-baked and used hard with not a sign of cracks or coming apart. Aside from some minor fading, it's still as good as the new one. The factory windshield on my scoot is made by GIVI. The quality is surely excellent, but GIVI prices are REALLY high. The GIVI trunk on the Wife's doctor's Vespa is nearly identical to my new trunk, but it's "factory-badged" with the Vespa trademark... That added another couple-hundred bucks to the cost... In my searches, I found the exact same trunk as I just bought, but badged with the Harley Davidson logo... For $475 plus $40 shipping. I also found it with the Honda Gold Wing Interstate logo, for $350... A ho' lotta money for a plastic name tag! It's frustrating, but Chinese quality varies from absolute garbage, to truly excellent, but you always take a gamble when buying products. It looks like this particular trunk while not really cheap, is still affordable, and going to be well worth the price. Hope so! If it's as good as the one it is replacing, it will be a good buy! Whatever the case, my scooter budget is now completely depleted... Time to quit improving, and start riding! Ride safe,Leo

Those ARE nice! I can see they hold a LOT... Probably hold more than the fiberglass saddlebags on my old Harley Electra-Glide did! I love the way these new bags just go under the seat. Simple, and pretty theft-proof. I have a neighbor with a Harley bobber which had a beautiful set of handmade throw-over set of tooled-leather bags. They were REALLY just thrown over the rear fender... Parked right in his driveway, they disappeared one afternoon. Those bags cost him several hundred bucks, AND contained a $1,500 custom 1911 .45, which he had to report and explain to the police. Yup, I definitely like the way these new ones go under the locked seat! As Richie used to say on "Happy Days"... "sit on it"... LOL! Ride safe! Leo

The problem with many is that while they are using the same molds some are injecting new ABS plastic into them while others may be using recycled plastic forks, bottles, etc to make them. The product photographs the same but...

The problem with many is that while they are using the same molds some are injecting new ABS plastic into them while others may be using recycled plastic forks, bottles, etc to make them. The product photographs the same but... THAT is for sure! It's one reason riders will pay premium prices for name-brands.This maker "MotorBox" advertises all-new materials construction, with NO recycled plastics used. Maybe true, maybe not, but the old one already on the scoot seems to be so identical that I'm sure it's made by the same people. It's 6 years old, and has obviously sat out in the sun for many years, yet has no crazing, cracking or damage except for some very slight fading, and yellowing of the originally white trim strip. (That same trim on the new one is black) so I suppose the maker figured on preventing the yellowing from age. The fit, appearance and attention to detail on this one is second-to-none, so if it holds up to weather like the old one, I'll be happy! Only time will eventually tell... My old Xingyue 150 came with a beautifully-painted hard fiberglass "Mercedes" style trunk, but it's build-quality was not nearly as good as this semi-flexible matte-black one. It was prettier, but this one is better-made. I did use the old one pretty hard though, and, it never did crack or deteriorate. The lock fell apart though, and, it rattled something awful... I never was able to cure that, even with rubber buffers, grommets, etc. at every junction! The entire scooter exhibited numerous rattles, as most do... I eventually got used to it, and just figured it was speaking Chinese to me! Overall, "Lil' Bubba" was good Chinese scoot, with the bugs worked out. I'm sure whomever buys it will be happy, so long as they remember it's only a 150. It's sorta "eerie" getting used to a scooter (especially and OLD one with 13K miles on her) which does NOT rattle in the slightest! Like a quality car or truck, it just quietly "thumps" over bumps. SWEET! Ride safe! Lots of riders having accidents this month! Leo in Texas

Leo,
My old Lance had a nicer looking painted trunk but it leaked water every time it rained, the lid would pop open constatly while riding when going over even seemingly moderate irregularities in the roadway and anything that looked in any fashion to being somewhat key shaped would open the lock.
Truth in advertising is a wonderful concept hopefully Motorbox practices this.
If their boxes were 100% mount compatible with the Givi mouting system I would be very tempted to give one a try since the Givi mount is built into my bikes factory luggage rack which is a metal rack that requires no mounting plate to work. You just swap a small cover on the luggage rack with the little latch hook thats included in a small bag stored under the seat when you buy the bike and you are all set.

Whew, your Lance trunk was even worse than my Xingyue... Mine didn't LEAK, but that's the best you could say about it... Full interchangeability with the GIVI WOULD be good...
Unfortunately they don't interchange. The listing says they are similar, but the GIVI monokey mount has a differently shaped release. (I think they're "hinting" that you could butcher up your bike's GIVI mount to make it work...) I suppose GIVI has a patent on their design, hopefully preventing copy-cat trunks... Hmmm... Can it be a Chinese manufacturer ACTUALLY honored somebody's patent? It gives hope that maybe their products really are NOT made from recycled Chinese Army sneakers... LOL! Only time will tell...Leo
