Nearest AutoZone with a YTX7A in stock is 105 miles away.. He will order a Yuasa tonight and we will postpone our ride for a few days.

My buddy ended up purchasing a MotoBatt MBTZ10S (8.6 AH, 190 CCA) battery to replace his Yuasa YTX7A-BS (6.0AH, 105 CCA). I am not familiar with the MotoBatt brand and welcome any comments on the brand. The two batteries are almost identical in length, width and height specs. The MotoBatt weighs 7.4 lbs and the Yuasa weighs 6.3 lbs. I am assuming the 17% weight increase in the MotoBatt is attributable to more lead and hence the better AH and CCA specs. Is this a pretty safe assumption? The Yuasa sells for $69 and the MotoBatt is $79. The MotoBatt also has a 2 year full replacement warranty where as the Yuasa has a 1 year warranty. Since my scoot also has a Yuasa YTX7A-BS I am thinking of going with the MotoBatt when my battery reaches end of life. Thanks in advance for any and all comments.

I like to use Interstate batteries. They have batteries for everything (or they will make it to your spec) and the stand behind their product. Http://www.interstatebatteries.com
