I used flikr.com on the old site. I had to upload the pics to flikr, downsize them, and then download them to my laptop, and attach from there. I can't do that anymore?

I use imageshack.us, and then when i finish uploading i get the direct link for that pic, then when in the reply/post box on the forum I click the picture icon which is (insert image) then just paste the image url link from imageshack and click the insert image button afterwards and it shows in html or forum code or whatever in the post/reply box. If your trying to upload the pics for your profile picture, it needs to be 100x100 resolution i think, and under a certain amount of mb (maybe 1-2mb) i believe, as for sigs, I have no clue cause I havent tried to upload a pic to my sig.

Could somebody help me to do this step-by step? thanks Did you not read the link? You will not be able to use the old way or attachment button, in fact I'm coding right now to remove it entirely. PB's now limits the bandwidth limit of attachment images and if you want more as a forum you pay for it, not going to do that especially when there are plenty of sites that will host your images for free and allows you to put them here. Right above each reply area is a menu bar that starts on the left as FONT FACE and ends with the smiley icon which when clicked pops up a smiley menu to use. The 5th icon to the left of the smiley icon is the "insert image" icon of which when clicked brings up the insert image window. On any image hosting site including flikr and imageshack they give one 4 codes that can be used on forums and such. When the pop up window to insert the image comes up you will see a place that is to paste the image host code that you copy from them. It will have http:// and a x to the right and is the place to put the "image url" in. Click on the X to clear the window and then paste you image code in the window. After doing this click on 'Insert Image" then when you finish the post hit "Create Post" and your image will appear. As far as size I have a resizing code handling all images that are too big, people used to insert images in as big as a house and admins had to always resize them, not anymore, it's automatically done with a code now.

Now you can just put text in your signature as mentioned or a photo and there are two ways to put a photo in your signature. When you are on your personal profile page and want to place a photo in just go to whatever you use to host your photos and when looking for the right link code you will need to use a code like this from photobucket and it's called a IMG code. Photobucket when you ask for a code link gives you 4 choices and use the one at the bottom. It will look like this: [UR L=http://s499.photobucket.com/user/ jrryan2008/media/Photo-00373.jpg.html]http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/ rr359/jrryan2008/Photo-00373.jpg[/IMG][/UR L] I put some spaces in this so it wouldn't bring the photo up and remember you always have to "Save Changes" at the bottom to make this work. Now if you want the photo centered you need to add the center brackets this one on the front [ center] and this one at the end [ /center]. There is another way which was the old way on the old forum and that's take a direct url and you must put the code brackets there yourself, example: [ img ] http: //s499.photobucket. com/user/ jrryan2008/media /Photo-00373.jpg [/ img ] Again I put spaces in this so it would not link to the photo. Again you want it centered? Use the center brackets or it will automatically be on the left. [ center ] [/ center ] Some of you may have noticed this image in your or others signature. It is self explainatory. In the past if someone's signature was too large I either had to reduce it or ask the member to. Here I have a option of using a plugin code to limit the size of the signatures and as you can see the limit here is 150 pixels high. You can have a signature as long as you want provided it fits the page but the height is a maximum of 150px. You will need to size your signature before you put it in your profile and if it is one pixel above 150px you will have this banner come up. I recommend 149px to be safe. JR

I just use photobucket and copy paste the appropriate code I tried to use the attachement button on avatar but didn't work Read the above post, if your signature is over 150px in height you will get the banner as you did. Not trying to be difficult folks but the signatures as big as a barn not going to fly anymore. We all got to remember even in this day some still have smaller screens and even on dial up and large images are extremely difficult for them to see and even harder to open. All images put on regular posting will automatically be resized by the auto resizer to 480px X 360px. But the cool thing is if you want to view the image in full size you will be able to click on it and it will resize to original. But on the signature 150px high is the limit, as I said computers vary so size it to 149px in height and it will appear. Also as of last night the Attach button is gone and not available. JR

The link you're posting takes me directly to the PhotoBucket login page. I don't have a PhotoBucket account so that ain't working.
Either there is a different link that is available without logging in or maybe they have decided that they're not going to allow direct access anymore without logging in first. You'll have to dig through the user agreements to find out.

Photo bucket really is a poor choice for a host, they have links that often go dead. They have a max on the views for the image and if the account goes dormant the entire thing goes bad.
