I make a video of my scooter with the little digital RPM i buy on Ebay.
I set my idle speed at 2100 rpm, i have a 72cc kit, power camshaft, original carburetor jet #92, original airbox and exhaust. Valves are .003mm and .004mm.

Sounds good but that tach is way too big for my liking.

No, they're not particularly attractive.
At least he centered his and tried to make the best of it. Mine is strictly temporary so I just slapped it on with duct tape where I could see it.

That's a pretty high idle. Mine is set at ~1400RPM. I'd recommend you to lower it a bit; at least by 200-300RPM, . It'll make the engine run cooler at idle, and waste less gas and wear less too. Many would say 1800RPM is good, but it depends on a lot of factors (like engine temperature, oil type, air temperature, etc..etc..).

Thats cool, and gave me an idea for something I want for myself. I dig digital speedometers, but only seen them on cars and high end motorcycles. After reading this I did a quick google for a digital speedometer. I want to put one in my scoot dash. Thanks.

That idle is so high! Mine is much lower, it just put puts! Did you set your tach to 1 or 2 fires per rev? I set mine to 1 and blew the motor thinking the RPM was actually lower than it was. Why do theses engines tick so much? Sounds like incorrectly adjusted valves on an older car motor.

Mine can idle as low as 1000RPM, Florida is pretty hot weather, and with the right oil, I can go as low as 1000RPM. However, when it's winter (which it's getting to), then it won't start well at all.
