I miss the days where you could open a pop bottle you bought from a gas station and win a free pop that was printed underneath the cap, and not have to go online to redeem it!!

Another thing that drives me nuts is that we no longer get check stubs at work. We have to have direct deposit now(which I have anyway) and if you want to look at your hours, you have to online. Where I work, I don't always come and go at the same time everyday, so my hours and paycheck are always different. Which means I have to log in and double check and see if the computer system we use to clock in/out, is properly doing so and that I'm not getting screwed over.

First, I have windoze 8 on my lap top and hate it. Next I love technology, imagine that, a 60 yr old guy that likes technology. When I was in physician assistant school at the age of 50 I was about the most technology oriented guy in the class. When I go into an office supply place and look at computers it drives me crazy that a snot nosed kid talks to me like I know absolutely nothing, I was putting systems together before he was born.
I do however miss the days before cell phones and computers, things were much more personal then, we all kept in touch by writing letters and occasionally making a expensive long distance call to family that lived hundreds of miles away, the calls were much more appreciated then, we talked a lot less but it meant so much more to us.
Kids would go outside and play in the sun. We would build forts to play like Peter Pan or some other adventure of our imagination. We would find a piece of wood and use it to make a scooter out of an old roller skate. Take our BB gun out and shoot at a tin can.
Yup technology of today was certainly the science fiction of my youth. Sometimes having an imagination, is better than having the real thing.

I bought a Windows 7 new at Walmart. 6 months later, my wife bought a Window 8.. She hates it because the touch bar is to sensitive and its starts other programs. Too me, Windows 7 is better for not changing programs in the middle of something. I just listen to my wife complain about it.

I have upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1, this is an improvement. I still prefer using a free download program that restores some familiarity to the operating system. You can download it here if you want it. www.classicshell.net/

Just got a laptop to replace my old one. It has windows 8. I heard a lot of hate for 8, but it's not too bad so far. Only thing that gets annoying, at least with my laptop, is the touchpad because basically the whole border of it involves some sort of touch action that is easy to do accidentally---opening sidebars, apps... I like the whole concept of it, though. Still plan on getting a pretty decent desktop in the future. Got a good table top set up .Remote keyboard, mouse large monitor, two speakers , computer desk and chair. All newer but shipping may be a problem.

I got pissed with Window with Vista, so I traded sides.... moved to OSX.... Other then for work, I just don't use windows. I use open office at home if I have to work from home, and I just like it better. I really haven't played with windows 8. My work comp is windows 7. It seems ok, but I'm more at home on my Macs.
Just me.... and what I prefer. (actual desk top is a Hackintosh) with a dual monitor set up.... A MUST!!!!! way more productive... I even had them set up a second monitor at work for me. It really helps when I'm swapping between email and spreadsheets....

Never had a problem with the Vista Home Premium I had on my other laptop. I loved it. Never had 7 but my parents and friends did.
Always wanted a Mac though.

Well for all the Windows 8 haters there is help: windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/update-from-windows-8-tutorialI downloaded the new 8.1 the other day and it comes with IE11 automatically. I do a lot of code and javascript with this new V5 set up on the forum and until I put on 8.1 the other day I spent a lot of time clearing my browser and cookies to use this forums software. I like the 8.1, it's smoother, faster, and I've not cleared a browser or anything in days now, plus the start button is back. They know they rushed 8 and it has problems so if you have W8 already this upgrade to 8.1 is free at the moment to all W8 users. I highly recommend it. JR
