Hoping to get a recommendation for a small engine repair manual, or something like that. I don't understand the function of the individual engine parts and it would be nice to have it spelled out for me in a book. I drive a 50cc Yamaha which is a 2-stroke, although I don't know if this would be drastically different from a 4-stroke or whatever else.

Check a Yamaha dealer they might have one for Yamaha 2-strokes if not try Haynes Scooter service and repair manual. It's a Chinese scooter repair manual but they are basically the same. They cover 2-stroke and 4-stroke. 50 to 200 cc scooters.

2 stroke is much easier,,no timing chain,cam,rockers,intake/exhaust valves,oil pump,ect...other than that pretty much the same CVT wise.
