Hm. Now rocky and the rest of y'alles have me wondering what the cycle shop put into my scoot. Never thought to ask before. I would think some sort of motorcycle oil. Makes sense, it's a motorcycle repair/customising shop.
Maybe I should call tom and ask? Will knowing make a difference?

Knowing will allow you to make a choice to push up the schedule for the next oil change. Piaggio was very adamant about using the correct oil in their bikes however you are talking about 6,250 miles between scheduled oil changes so the quality and grade of oil must be correct to ensure the longevity of the engine. There are folks using their Aprilia 250cc bike for delivery services putting on 25,000 reliable miles a year when they follow the book using the required lubes and such.

Motul 710, Lucas makes some decent synth blend 2 stroke oil as well but the 710 is normally recommended. Basically anything not made for weed wackers and chain saws is best. Do you have an oil pump or is it pre-mix it can make a difference

Do not use mix only type. You have no performance mods so anything that says its good for auto lube or pump should be fine. The good stuff will quickly cost more than a replacement top end...
