I live in Vegas, and though we are only in the high 's here towards the end of September, I'm still concerned with the long term health of my CVT due to the excessive heat here (some summer days can reach over 115 easily). I would like to remove the air filter at the front of the CVT and replace it with an inline stainless steel mesh strainer. I do not ride off road, so the only concern is with the light dust of a metropolitan area (Vegas is pretty proactive with keeping dust down at construction sites and empty lots). Anyone have any experience with this sort of mod? Good idea, bad idea? I realize I'll probably have to clean the inside of the CVT more often, but that's a good thing in the long run.

Probably not necessary unless you run a stiffer torque spring I noticed my cvt was much hotter with the 1500 spring

Probably a small piece of the green part of a sponge might be all you need, as a filter!
