Came across a Craigslist deal I couldn't refuse. A 2007 Baja Motorsports Phoenix motorcycle. Been sitting in this gal's garage for the last three years or so. Only had 161 miles on it. She said her boyfriend could get it to fire with starting fluid but it wouldn't run. $300.00 and it was all mine. They had put a new battery in it so all I did was charge it up, clean the carb, fill with new gas and changed the oil. Fired right up. I'm going to take the carb off and clean it again as it doesn't want to idle without a little choke on. Even with that it is running strong. It has the cloned Honda 234cc parallel twin and the body is a clone of the Suzuki GZ250. I was surprised at how well it rides. At 60 indicated it feels so much more stable than either my 150 or 250 scooter. At 50 the speedometer is only off by 3 MPH. (50 indicated = 47 actual) This picture was taken on my inaugural ride, taking advantage of the last of the sunshine up here before the rain sets in for the year. Attachments:

300 bucks? Man you practically STOLE that thing. Nice looking ride though, Looks brand new, I'll bet it never left the garage. Amazing how many people buy a scoot or motorcycle, use it a few times and then sell it. When I would go to the Honda shop I marveled how many of the big bikes (6-700cc and up) were for sale with 2 or 3 thousand miles on them tops, while my little scoot had over 12K on the odometer. Oh well, I guess non-mechanical people are a godsend to us.

Thanks guys. She said it wouldn't start one day so it just sat in her garage. She couldn't get a local area shop to work on it because it was a Chinese bike. So it just sat there. I saw it pop up on Craigslist about 4 weeks ago for $500 but apparently no one wanted to risk it. Was re-posted 2 weeks later so I made contact and made the deal. So far it is turning out well. ((*
The deals are out there. Just have to have patience and keep a few extra bucks laying around to jump on them. ^)

OOOH-WEE!!
What a buy! That little beast has just enough Harley Sportster DNA to make one SWEET bobber (if you like bobbers... LOL!) Personally, I like 'em. I even like the stock exhausts on this one!
I feel COMPLETELY safe saying "you're going to LOVE that bike!"
Well done!

it looks to be a bit of a Honda Rebel clone to me.

The engine is a clone of the one they use on the Rebel. The body style is a copy of the Suzuki GZ250.
So far I really do like it. ((* I used to ride cycles years ago before I transitioned to scooters. I forgot how much I missed them!
