I have a repair i'm doing on a jinlun 50cc can't get any spark from the plug, i changed the coil cdi spark plug and redid all the grounds and check the plugs and wires no spark whatsoever from the plug. I'm thinking stator pick up must be the issue what do you guys think?

Well the only few things left are Pickup, Stator and Grounded CDI. Take the kill wire off the CDI and test the Pickup. Alleyoop

I recently had the same problem. What I found was a bad connection on the HV lead comming from the stator. I had to take the stator out to fix it. Attachments:

I would check the voltage on the HV lead. I guess I modified my post too late- I did'nt see that it was you, I would'nt have gone into the flywheel puller thing

Me I would check the killwire on the cdi first, then check the pickup coil wire going to the CDI .05Vac if both are good then pull off the flywheel to check the stator. That's what I would do but that is just me. Alleyoop

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]0.5vac? is that without cranking? I thought you need 40-80 vac.

nevermind. I gotta read better, you said the pickup wire. are you saying it should be .5vac while cranking? Now I'm learning something 40-80vac is on the HV lead. ;D

40-100vac cranking for a working stator, the PICK UP coil only is a fraction of voltage just to tell the CDI when to FIRE it is just a trigger.
You got it, the stator feeds the CDI the CDI stores the Voltage and Converts it to about 400volts then when the Pick up Coil sends the signal it releases the Stored Voltage to the Coil which in turn Turns it into 20000-40000 volts to fire the PLUG. Alleyoop

Thats while cranking right?

Yes, the stator does not produce any voltage unless the flywheel with the magnetics is turning. Alleyoop
