Im going to ditch the Chinese belt for a Bando. Im also tweaking the weights in the variator as well. I dont want to mask any performance change with the new belt and weights at the same time. If the new belt will feel and ride the same as my stock belt i wont worry about doing both.

Hey Red, I had a Brando belt that came stock with my 50cc Jonway scoot and it is a great belt. I have it as a backup as it has a little where on it. The one i have on my bike now is a Gates Powerlink, Still a Great belt. You really can't go wrong ether way much better then the rubber bands some come shipped with. I do however think the Gates belts are just a wee bit tighter fit as mine has a ever so slight chirp to it only at idle and the CVT is good as new.

Those scooters that come with a generic belt should replace it ASAP . Gates is a great brand as well as Bando . Gates is made in China where Bando is Japan and is what Hondas come with . My Magnum came with an odd numbers Gates that was hard to find but I did find a size diff in Bando and my dealer ordered me one . It had 4,200 and looked almost new with no bad signs and I am sure I could 2,000 more miles or better . The Gates was smooth at all times . Well the Bando is I have is the Kevlar type which is stiffer than nonKevlar models . It does have a weird vibration even with sliders and a Hoca BB torque spring base which really makes " shifting " better as it sounds like a car auto tranny . My Echarm factory belt had 12,000 miles on it and had some signs of waer but still good . I like to change out parts before they self destruct . My dealer told me the CFMoto belt was made by Bando and was the same thing and 20 less . Well it too is Kevlar and has the same annoying vibration , where stock was smooth as silk . After reading where Kevlar belts that broke from excessive wear have damaged the variator . I have seen belts explode into chucks and strands of cords . I have read from some dealers that only sell nonKevlar belts from problems that have happened if one did not replace BEFORE it breaks . Gates and Bando is the only brand of belts I would suggest to get unless you can afford the Italian goodies . I would only buy from a trusted dealer like Scrappy or PFS and NEVER from Ebay as there a lot of fakes that are renamed generic junk . www.bando.de/en/scooter-belts/ scootpower.com/2012/03/07/bando-kevlar-scooter-belts/
