Mr Rogers. He was a Marine of some sort, some kind of sharp-shooter. And he hosted a kids' show (THAT takes courage!)
Sonny sang with Cher and you can't tell without paying attention who sings when.

Sorry Kat but Fred Rogers was (in addition to being a TV host) a Presbyterian minister. Now Sonny was Mayor of Palm Springs and was tough enough to deal with ten Kazillion kids on spring break. He also did a lot of great stuff for the town. Call me biased, but my vote goes for Sonny. (aka Mayor Bono)

Mr. Rogers for certain. Anyone who will wear a zippered sweater on television is definitely a man...

Sorry back, spandi, but you really think Sonny handled those kids? Meanwhile, haven't you ever seen a minister in action? Children's sermon, anyone? YOU try keeping any sized group of kids focused on your talk about the grown-up lessons for more than a minute. And corral them back to the topic when they fly off on tangents.
Ministering kids is WAY harder than mayoring kids! Any day!!

Sorry back, back, back spandi. He'd take off the sweater and we'd finally get to see the tattoos, and pull out the guns.
Besides which, those kids would probably still respect him. Even drunk. They'd have grown up watching him, revering him as little 'uns.
I saw authority in action in college. After the K-State/KU football game, the Marching Band had to protect one of the goal posts from the drunk (and not-drunk) students. Bad thing was the corner the student hit first was flutes and clarinets--all girls. I found myself surrounded by nobody I knew. Suddenly there was our director telling us to close in, get tight. Some drunk student stumbled into me, and Mr Finck pointed at him and ordered him, "You. Go. Leave." And the student did, along with several others nearby. Then Mr Finck called out "Look! There's another post. Go get that one!" And most of the students took off across the football field for the far goalpost.
That one (protected by faculty) went down and went to Aggieville. Ours stayed 'til sometime in the middle of the night, long after everyone was gone.
The point being, it's all in the person's authority. And I betcha' Mr Rogers could exude authority when he wanted. Couple that with the familiarity and respect and possible child-adoration, and he'd have few troubles with drunk teens.
