I'm almost finished with my 50mm bbk build amd was just wondering if it would help me any if I ported my stock head? I am using an airsal kit with stock head & cam, 20mm carb with  main jet and stock exhaust.thanks |

as everybody knows i port the heads for scrappy and been porting heads for over 30 years...so to answer your question is if you don't know what you are doing DONT it will cost you in the long run.plus if you port it you have to but bigger valves in or it don't make much sence..it take years and some skill to do it right..plus i have a flow bench cause that is what you are trying to adchiev changing the way the air flows..you cant just make a bigger hole and think that will make it better..it don't work that way...so if you think you can do the valves and cut new seats then go for it..if you don't know how take my word you could make it worse!!...good luck...buford

I agree with you about the valves so yea I will probly wait, but I am an auto mechanic and have worked in cars for 10 years and ported alot of heads so I assume scooters wouldn't be much different, except alot easier lol

no they are not easy...you need very small carbide bit's and very small cutters for the seat's..i make alot of my own cutting tools for these small heads....to do them right it takes me a good 5-hours or so to complete one...thanks...buford.
