wow this that kind of damage i would definetly take the top end apart and manually check for metal scraps on the piston head ring and cyclinder wall for scratches.

i was an ametuer as well (we all were at one point) however this does sound like a pretty serious problem. tbh if you dont want to mess around with it and great frustrated beyond belief but have the best feeling of accomplishment once you get it fixed, i would suggest bringing it to a mechanic. if not keep posting watch a lot of youtube videos and have some belief in yourself that you CAN solve this and i have no doubt you will fix the problem.

I would take that bike to the dealer and demand an extension of the warranty. You will need to take the entire engine apart and clean everything. A new motor is easy to do and likely cheaper in the end but seriously I would ghostride that thing through the front window of the shop that sold it to me if they don't warranty total engine failure like that

No tach so I dont have an idea on rpm. I called the dealer and they said they will look at it with a boroscope (?) And let me know what kinda problem there may be. He was sure to point out it was out of warranty period but ill wait for their diagnosis before I freak out!

Whoa! Sorry to say that is about as bad as it gets. If you are not confident working in the engine, take it to the dealer. If you have to pay, it will cost $$$ at dealer prices.
Decision time.
1. Take it to the dealer for $$$, but professional and faster 2. Do it yourself with the board's help. Less money, but takes much longer.

a tach would be a good idea . you have to be careful how high these engines rev. its notgood for these engines to run over 8000 rpms for an extended period .

Yep. If you wanna run the interstate (especially for extended periods) you might want to go with a 250 scoot.

i ride the interstae a couple times a week , but im only on it for about 3 miles . i cruise at 7000 rpms 60mph i usually top out on a straight stretch at around 7800 rpm 67-68 mph. i dont like going over 8000 rpms dow.nhill.

I don't understand why you should have to be careful. Most bikes have a rev limiter that kicks in at the red-line. Not sure why they haven't figured that out yet. I still think you should just replace the motor it's quick, easy and is something anyone with basic skills can do. As we have seen lately resetting a top end successfully or even a cam is not so easy the first time...
