Installed an main and have my performance exhast as well. WIth the stock airbox it runs good up to WOT then i can feel it hesitate. If i remove the caps and the sponge filter it runs great. I have a Uni filter coming from Scrappy but dont want to run too long with no filter element. How many holes would i need in the airbox to compensate? BTW, what is the restriction difference between stock airbox with snorkel removed and a uni filter?

(okay, sorry 'bout this, red', but totally can't resist. I read your title and immediately thought "ONE! Just the one hole in my head!")
You may now proceed with your helpful posts, fellas.

I thought that one hole would be somewhere else than in the head, but anyway ;D

That's hard to say, you just drill them one at a time, and test after each till it's right... Fawkes as a stroker took 7, Fawkes now needed 10.. I know you would not think you would need more going down in cc's but that's what happened..

I don't think anyone could tell you that precisely since every scooter/setup is different... I'd just run with the filter and without the cap for now. If you had a carb with an adjustable needle you could probably make it happy just with an adjustment.

DX However, on my particular scooter, it never would run right at full-throttle with the stock airbox, OR with the snorkel. In fact, the carb would NOT adjust to run properly with ANY extension on the carb at all... even with NO filter!
The UNI filter solved EVERYTHING. Hope it will do the same for you.
Sincerely,
Leo in Texas

I drilled holds in my air box and scooter fell on its face it would only go about 20. It popped and skipped. With the stock jet that was a 108. But oddly it ran great with a cone filter on the carb with the same jet. I don't understand how but that's the results I got from drilling.
