It is less than 10 inches wide, 8 inches tall. IMO it is a "flyscreen", not a "windshield" On my Savage I had National Cycle's Flyscreen and Street ShieldAt 10" wide and 9" tall, the Flyscreen is similar to the one you are looking at. The Flyscreen was my summer highway screen. At 60+ mph it reduces the wind trying to shove you off the back of the bike. It slightly increases the wind in your face. Riding on the I-10 back from the Mojave I was fighting a 30-40 mph headwind. The flyscreen was useless fighting -100 mph wind. In the Winter, the Flyscreen does not stop those cold fingers down your neck. The top of the 17"x17" Street Shield came up to about my nose. The Street Shield blocked most of the wind on my face, with the wind hitting my hair. Down I-10 I was comfortable standing straight up, even with a -100 mph wind. It made Interstate very comfortable. And in the city, in the Winter, the wind did not slip freezing fingers down my neck. On my Vespa I got a Faco Mid-size screen -- 13" over the headlight, at the bottom of my nose. On I-10 coming back from my full moon ride the Vespa was comfortable with an 80- mph wind (only about 50 mph.)

I have one. Makes a world of difference in the comfort, especially is cold and rain. Youll even pick up a few mph as well. When you install it do not attach it the traditional way. Its too flimsy if you have the studs facing out to the sides. I turned mine inward facing me and it braces it much better. You can also then bend the bracket to give it the correct slope to make it more aerodynamic because if its straight up without leaning it will create too much resistance.

That looks more like a recycled pocket bike windshield and note that it does not come with any hardware which is why it is marked own to around $10. You might be better off shopping with one of our forum sponsors such as Parts for Scooters.
You can search other vendors for bargains on slip Streamer or Puig too. I have the Puig Touring Sport Fairing on my bike and it gained me several additional mph on the highway along with a few mpg. However be prepared to spend $50 to $100 for a half decent windshield with all the hardware. A replacment hardware kit alone can cost up to $50.

The piece you are looking to buy will have no effect on performance. Its merely an accessory for looks in my opinion.

I have had the Puig on mine since 2006 and never an issue. It is heavy stuff so no flex or anything.

My advice is to check around and see how much you'll have to spend for the hardware. Then decide if that shield is worth it or not.
It would be fun though, all shiny chrome.

yesterday a bug hit me in my neck at about 40 mph. stung a little and that was just a tiny bug... what if a truck kicks up a rock aimed at my neck? that would be bad, no? between bugs, unforeseen rocks and Leo's story of the bird... i think i'll be getting a windshield.

After putting a windshield on my 150 (stock fit (lucky me) and DOT approved) I will never ride anything that doesn't have one, if I can help it.

imho, the windshield the OP posted is useless for anything below a 200cc. The windshield redroush00 posted I also have on my ATM50, and it works well. It helps keep the rain off your chest. It's not quite large enough to cover you completely, but I'm 6'3" too, and if I bend forward I can at least put my face behind the shield when it's raining hard, to keep the biggest drops from splashing in my face.
And just like redroush00, bend the shield backwards a little, and make it a bit more curved than stock (as stock they come pretty straight).
No significant speed changes with the windshield. Just less wind on the chest; slightly more wind in the face, and some protection against rain when riding

Made it so a stiff headwind no longer slows me to 65/70 and allows my bike to keep up with the flow of 80 mph Interstate traffic with some throttle to spare. A proper fitted windshield should be below the level of your eyes and no higher. Always wear a face shield and not just googles. Always wear a good riding jacket which should cover the neck.

I have been using this one on my scooter that did not come with a windshield . Its a little cheap but serves its purpose . I keep a spare they tend to stress crack . It is listed for a 50cc I'm using it on a 150cc that I ride on the hwy .
