Since this has gone off topic of my throttle cable post i figured id start a new one. AS the topic states im not getting spark on my 139qmb 50cc 4 stroke. I checked on two different plugs just to make sure and still no spark. TBH idk if the battery needs to be hooked up to check spark or, if it all comes from the stator. So my first question would be, do i need to have the battery hooked up to check for spark? ive watched a couple videos and all the ones i watched, the guys had their scooters fully assembled and mine isnt.

Make sure you have a ground wire from the motor to the frame. Usually a wire a ground wire is hooked up to one of the bolts holding the VALVE COVER then to the frame. Also a battery would have to be hooked up IF you have a DC CDI. If it is AC then the battery does not need to be hooked up, BUT LET ME SAY this you better hook up the battery otherwise when running it can blow your Regulator/Rectifier and also don't forget some of your lights and electric start will not work.
So Charge the Battery and hook it up also make sure a ground wire is also going to the frame from the NEGATIVE POST of the Battery and hook up the positive post to the Solenoid and then the other post on the SOLENOID going to the starter.
Your asking for more troubles if you do NOT HOOK UP THE BATTERY.
Forgot one other possible thing IS YOUR KILLSWITCH ON the RUN position? Also some have a KILLSWITCH on the side stand make sure the sidestand is up.

ok thanks again alleyoop. i just looked over the wireing, its a little hard becuase most of its in a wiring harness but its all hooked up to the battery terminals so i shouldnt have to worry about that part atleast.
yes i checked to make sure my killswitch was on i will hook up the battery and make sure everything is in place and check again thanks very much.
