I just found out the screen is going fuzzier and fuzzier now on my old genesis. Is there any way to clean it before I have to get another? I thought I'd ask you guys here cause some of you are pretty fluent in electronics and devices. Maybe some compressed air shot in the cartridge port? If nothing I can do will help, is there a way to get it refurbed or cleaned by a electronics guy??

I would suspect that to be a cabling issue rather than a cartridge issue. What sort of connection are you using to get the signal to your TV set? The RF/coax cable or are you using a composite RCA connection? I don't have a Genesis so I'm not sure how they hooked up. Try another input on your TV set if you have one available, I had trouble with my old set and it was the connections on the TV. Alternately, try connecting another device to the input on the TV to see if it is working poorly. Use some rubbing alcohol and canned air to clean any connectors on the console.

Dom i had the same kinda problem and a good cleaning did help a bit but i found it was the connet on the box that hook's up to the older T.V. i had that was more of a problem. I sprayed some (just a little) good old WD40 into the slider of that box and worked the slider a few times back and forth. Never had any real problems with the same box that came with my commodore 64 thou. Just what i did a longgggg---> time ago. Is this what you have? if not my bad.

Yes you can clean it. I completely disassembled my Nintendo and cleaned the 72-pin cartridge port. Used alcohol and cotton swabs. Same thing with the games. There should be "how-to's" onlime. Plus you can buy parts for it, if needed.

Also I bent the 72-pin tabs downwards-- after awhile, the tabs gaps widen and don't make AS good of contact on the carts.

Similar, but no switch on the box. I'm afraid to take it apart, but I'll buy some compressed air and go from there. I'm not sure if its the connection or the tv, or the genesis. The TV picture is fuzzy sometimes, but when I turn on the genesis, using Sega CD or cartridge the pic is realllyyy fuzzy now.
