Buying this was the best thing I ever did - a broken 50cc fell in my lap 3 seasons ago, with help from the forums I fixed it up, played with it a little and had a blast for a season of puttering around holding up traffic. Next season I couldn't resist the ugly 150 I found in craigslist for $500. It had been a yard toy most of its 4 year life, so the paint and most of the lenses are pretty faded. The front plastics are starting to crack chip and flake, a nice piece is broke from the rear side panel, but it ran. Everything worked. At first i was disappointed it was a huge frame 150, until I rode it. It only got to 45mph but I wasn't surprised. After a good PDI and a tune up, she was going 55 again. last season she got your standard bolt-on mods and some accessories (pics to come) and this season has been all trouble free riding enjoyment, so far Its a shame scooters get such a bad rap, because If people only knew how fun, convenient and economical they are, our streets would look more like those in Asia and Europe, full of 'motorbikes' ! Evolution of the exhaust: This blue junk fell apart terribly after only 1,000 miles. The rivets leaked right out of the box. I suspect having the one muffler support at the end of the can may have let the can to pipe union flex and vibrate more than it should have, not helping the fact that it was cheap junk. And yes I had to cut both mounting brackets off the head pipe, and heat it with a torch some to bend it to clear the fan cover and swingarm!!! I happened to notice that some 2-stoke pipe silencers would bolt right up to the flange on my head pipe... but it was way too loud. lol... This next cheap muffler seems like much better quality - it's welded on the bottom, has many many more threads and a thicker base to bolt to the head pipe. Also the thickness and welding on the outlet cap and end cap seem much more sturdy. I went ape with the bracketry this time, and its still like new after 1,000+ miles. Sounds great too! I have also added one more piece to the pipe-end support bracket to make a triangle shape, bracing it to the main bar so it can't drift down even if the hardware loosens up a little.

Also one of the first things I installed was a car horn and relay. I highly recommend this!!
I've replaced quite a few other things not worth going on about or taking pictures of... just upgrades and/or replacements of dinky Chinese parts.
Recently I put on a pair of Avon tires - they are great dry, no so sure about in the rain...! I'll take a pic if I ever clean and polish my wheels, lol
I also plan to install an engine oil temp gauge, using the replacement oil drain plug that accepts a temperature sensor.

Here is a better look at an Avon Another shot of the muffler with added bracket And a look at the new air filter with a splash guard on it. You have to look hard, but you can see it. Its facing the wheel where water would splash off the wheel's splash guard. Also note the support and bracket for that end of the intake tube, I improved the old one since the previous pic of the intake tube. Attached is an item listing image of the filter Attachments:

Yup! I used the blue ones in the attached pic. How does yours run with the 120 jet??? Is yours a 'P' motor?? I've been wondering if I should go up in size just to see... though I'd think I'd have blown up long ago if I was that lean!! Attachments:

I actually moved down to a #115 main jet and re-tuned my A/F back to 2.5 turns.

Ah - I have a 114 in now but was going to go to 115. 115 seems to be the norm for 150's with intake/exhaust. I have my needle most of the way up so it would seem logical to go up a step in jet size. Did you notice much difference with the porting work to the carb? If i can squeeze a little more power out of this thing I'd consider doing the same ;D

Hard to tell, really. I just dremeled and polished both ends of the carb, taking it all the way out to the casting's edge, while still maintaining it's strength. Probably didn't do a thing, seeing that the butterfly on the carb is still the stock diameter. heh
